Hi Yup, i got those same errors when compiling the Windows Garmin MapSource installer. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Canada:British_Columbia#Downloads
Its because OSM is not yet complete. I guess that by christmas, alot of the errors will be picked up. There are a few places where the roads dont align, and so, using the CanVec data, it will get fixed manually. I know that in Nanaimo, there are a few errors. So i do intend on fixing it :) But the majority of the province routes fine with this conversion. I have now uploaded the resulting IMG files for the Province of BC http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Canada:British_Columbia#Downloads As more people can use the IMG files, than just the mapsource installer :) When i convert the rest of the countries province .osm files (from Cloudmade extract) I'll include the IMG tiles that i created. For Contour maps, Garmin MapSource has a hard time mixing Contours & the routable map. But it's fine to add the contour only tiles to it. I am currently making a GroundTruth Planet Contour IMG file set at 10m, so it will be able to download. Hopefully the BC province mapset will be able in the next month or so :) Cheers, Sam Vekemans Across Canada Trails Victoria, BC On Tue, Jun 15, 2010 at 11:25 AM, angus <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm a relative newby to osm and this is my first query. > > Mkgmap returns the following when I attempt to compile BC using mkgmap. > > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Problem writing line (class > uk.me.parabola.imgfmt.app.trergn.Polyline) of type 0x10e1e containing 2 > points and starting at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=59.99994&mlon=-137.01642&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Subdivision shift is 2 and its > centre is at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=58.97461&mlon=-133.32742&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: deltaLong = -42980 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Problem writing line (class > uk.me.parabola.imgfmt.app.trergn.Polyline) of type 0x10e1e containing 2 > points and starting at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=59.99739&mlon=-139.04795&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Subdivision shift is 0 and its > centre is at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=59.76563&mlon=-138.03216&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: deltaLong = -47339 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Problem writing line (class > uk.me.parabola.imgfmt.app.trergn.Polyline) of type 0x10e1e containing 2 > points and starting at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=59.99996&mlon=-137.01640&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: Subdivision shift is 0 and its > centre is at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=59.76563&mlon=-133.32742&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880001.osm.gz: deltaLong = -171919 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: Problem writing line (class > uk.me.parabola.imgfmt.app.trergn.Polyline) of type 0x10e1f containing 2 > points and starting at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=49.00053&mlon=-114.72617&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: Subdivision shift is 0 and its > centre is at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=49.15504&mlon=-115.43354&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: deltaLong = 32966 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: Problem writing line (class > uk.me.parabola.imgfmt.app.trergn.Polyline) of type 0x28 containing 86 > points and starting at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=49.07513&mlon=-116.14094&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: Subdivision shift is 0 and its > centre is at > http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=49.15504&mlon=-115.43354&zoom=17 > SEVERE (Polyline): 88880004.osm.gz: deltaLong = -32967 > > It appears to be map errors but what do these messages mean and how do we > fix them? > > BTW I'm using Cloudmade british_columbia.osm.bz2 (Jun 08), mkgmap r1652, > splitter r116 and the most current openmtbmap_style.
