Hi Kevin, re: aboriginal lands admin_level # Since the stats_can boundary data will help define the areas, it will (probably) also show this aboriginal land boundary. Once we see what the area looks like, im sure it will be easier to decide.
I went with '4' because IMO it has provincial status. BUT the property of a post office building & RCMP building are also federal. Staff are expected to be bilingual so its also 'like' federal land. Does the region of Cowichan consider the land as part of 'their' inventory? We can ask Rob. (the GIS person) i will, if you dont want to. Then this can help set a precident for the rest of the country. Once the shp files are converted, the tags can always be changed and relations added. Ie all aboriginal lands can be sorted to their own hiararchy where needed. I have seen a land area which is actually a grave yard, but has IMO provincial status.
