I've done a test import of about 1k nodes for a few blocks, which can be seen around http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=49.180812&lon=-122.900047&zoom=18&layers=M
A few things I've noticed. - Some houses are missing. These could be imported manually from the "proposed" addresses - The positioning is superb - Surrey house numbers are long, and don't look great when they run together on z17 with mapnik At this point, I'd welcome any further feedback. As it happens, this area was the toughest to get right because of all the "named" streets while most of Surrey uses numbers > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:talk-ca- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul Norman > Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 7:45 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Talk-ca] Proposed import: Surrey Address Data > > I just wanted to note a couple of mistakes are present in the conversion > of rd -> road, etc, which are now fixed, and I'm re-running the > conversions. > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] [mailto:talk-ca- > > [email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul Norman > > Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 12:52 AM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [Talk-ca] Proposed import: Surrey Address Data > > > > I'm proposing to import the surrey address data located at > > http://www.surrey.ca/city-services/658.aspx > > > > I've written a translation script for the data, and it, along with the > > data untranslated and translated are located at > > http://maps.paulnorman.ca/surrey/addresses/ > > > > Legal: > > > > The data is PDDL, which is a well-known license and compatible. > > > > Data quality: > > > > The data is essentially an export from the city's internal GIS server > > and should be very accurate.
