I've found the people on talk-ca to be a little calmer, so I thought it would be okay to send a message here. I wouldn't say people here are less opinionated, but I think they are less vociferous about their opinions, and I think that's due to the small size of the list.
Shortly after my first message here, I did send a message to the user, asking them to subscribe to the list, and included a link to the archive of my first message. This user has been registered for a number of years, so I figured they might be a regular here.
