Hello all, I work for an environmental charity that is working on a big sustainability project with the London Borough of Sutton. We're going to use OpenStreetMap for a lot of our work, so I've started a mapping project page on the wiki to track how much data we have so far:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/WikiProject_Sutton_England It's not that large an area, and a lot of it is already pretty well mapped. We will get the people doing door-to-door home energy audits to use and update the maps as they go, giving us a really good error-checking method! We may also get all sorts of other community events using and adding to the maps, from kids doing heritage maps to the Wandle Trail Society really adding in nice detail for the river and surrounding area. I'm talking to my Society about their travel time maps and we have the offer of help from a few university GIS departments. Hackbridge, where the auditors are starting, is 99% mapped so that can definitely go ahead. But we do need to map the rest of the Borough getting in the basic details in the next couple of months. There's already a Surrey party planned for late April - would anyone be interested in doing something in late March with another straight after in early April to knock it all on the head? Kind regards, Tom _______________________________________________ Talk-GB mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk-gb
