The official 2012 website has some maps produced by stamen design, whom
some may know of, and which use Flash and mapnik.
I wrote a short review of this in the Society of Cartographers November

Indeed, which is why I suggested both some maps that I doubt the
well-oiled
engine will produce, and some organisations who would be interested in
free
/ alternative maps, rather than trying to compete in producing
basic/visitor maps of the area. At least, I thought that was smart ;-)
