Announcing the 1st Milton Keynes Mapping Party, a major OpenStreetMap mapping event which will take place on the 16th and 17th of May.
Come and map one of the UK’s most unusual towns – famous for its snow-dome, concrete cows [1] and modernist architecture – a grand designed community of 180,000 people, separated into over 100 1km x 1km collectives [2]. It’s the perfect antidote to a “conventional” British town. Best of all, it’s virtually unmapped on OpenStreetMap. Venue TBC but should be central. The town is easy to get to from many places – 30 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Birmingham by train. It was deliberately placed to be equidistant from London, Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford and Cambridge.
