Just to point out that GeoVation, set up by Ordnance Survey, is offering prizes totalling £21K to help develop new ideas, and yes, OSM based projects are eligible and the judging panel is independent of the OS. Whatever the result it would be great to have some OSM related projects being put forward.
"A competition in which there is up to £21,000 to be won in awards to develop new ideas that use geography. Entries to the competition are open from the 6th of October 2009 until 11:59am on the 4th of January 2010. Our judges are looking for ideas that can demonstrate their innovative potiential, sustainability and how they use geography. For more details see our Judging Criteria .
Out of the entries submitted on January 4th they will select a shortlist of up to 10 finalists who will be invited to present at the Show Case event, that will be held January 26th at the Royal Geographic Society in London. At the event finalists will be asked to present to and answer questions from the judges and assembled audience, for the opportunity to win one of four prizes. First prize is £10,000, two runner-up prizes of £5,000 and a community choice award, voted by the audience, of £1,000.
