I was forwarded an e-mail from someone at work about GPS Jamming in the
far North of Scotland, so if anyone happens to be mapping in this area
and looses (has lost) their signal this month you'll know why :)

As part of its Tactical Leadership Training (TLT) programme, the Air
Warfare Centre (AWC) intends to conduct a Global Positioning System
(GPS) jamming exercise over Northern Scotland during the period 16-27
November 2009. The TLT programme aims to develop the leadership skills
of frontline aircrew by providing a realistic training environment that
includes a range of threats that are representative of current and
possible future operations. To this end, exposure to GPS jamming
improves our ability to operate when this service is denied or
degraded. This GPS jamming activity is a repeat of the jamming
conducted without incident 6-16 July 2009; details of the planned
activity are shown below.
