+1, I think we should be printing off maps and using them during walks. Mark whats there, or not, with a highlighter pen.
Havent used 1:25K maps yet, but I have compared them using google when a similar issue arose a couple of days ago. Its clear a huge amount of changes have happened and it would be stupid to simply trace. We can't trace over google/bing satelite imagery because contract/terms of use, but it is tempting use the google satellite images to check what can be traced from the 1:25K (still the chance google is out-of-date!). This doesn't appear to go against google's terms of use.
