Can't seem to find this covered properly anywhere - does anyone know if there is a general UK convention around the naming of _link roads and/or roundabouts? I'd be happy to update wiki pages if there is.
I've seen primary_link ways inheriting the name/ref of the road from which they exit and I'm not sure if this is deliberate and accurate or simply a side-effect of someone splitting a simple road junction into a more complex arrangement of major, minor and links roads. I am certainly responsible for some of the later... I've also come across roundabouts named after the most primary interconnected road. Again, in many cases this looks like an artifact of copying tags from the highway rather than deliberate and accurate naming (I'm not concerned about roundabouts with unique names). NB. The only reference I've found is: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Tag:junction%3Droundabout#ref_tag Regards, Wilf.
