(By the way, the history of this street suggests the 'correct' name would be "Gibbon's Rents", after a man named Gibbon, but let's not go into that now. The street sign, at least at the junction with Magdalen Street, has no apostrophe.) This is related to the discussion of what to do if there is a former street that no longer exists on the ground. You could add an entirely bogus way in parallel with the existing one, tag it not:name=whatever and highway=no.
