regretfully decided not to use that but instead incorporate it into their own unique license. The only provision that we can see that might be contentious is this:

As this is the only provision that the LWG can see might be contentious, can I ask if the LWG specifically asked their legal advisors about that point, and if so did they give any detailed reasoning why in their view it wasn't a problem.
