But which signs are we talking about here? I'd not expect Sustrans "Ranger" signs to figure in the DfT Traffic signs manual.

Not sure which stickers you're referring to, but IIRC Sustrans 'Ranger' stickers are approved for use by almost all highway authorities in England, including Oxfordshire.
