As others said it is quite a bit of work. I've done the Tendring district of Essex. The Vectormap data includes some water areas which are now dry, some swimming pools belonging to larger rural properties (seem to be ignored in towns), and often need breaks in streams joining up. So local knowledge is really needed and why I only did the local area. If you do the work though you will end up with OSM having a better, more current set of such data than OS have currently released.
