A few days ago I received a flyer for "Royal Mail pinpoint"
and now there's a BBC article about it as well:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-18883772

It seems to be an attempt to build up more proprietary data,
presumably postcode-linked.

I'm thinking of writing an article for my village newsletter,
explaining about this and about OSM and about open postcode databases,
and asking residents to send me their postcodes.

Is there some established material for basing such an article on? If
not, I'm happy to put mine up for a starter; it seems like the kind of
thing that could be useful in many (or any) areas.

Or is there any good reason not to do this?
