I agree, a lot of things seem to be acquiring names for no reason, and
are just descriptions. We had the saga of motorway names a while back
and many railways seem to have names added in a similar vain, the
Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury Line, which has probably been derived from
looking at the names of the places it connects.

The Rugby-Birmingham-Stafford line, surely if it has a name, its the
West Coast Mainline?
