I checked a couple of changesets that were local enough to have appeared in one of the RSS feeds of activity in my local area (April 2013). In those two changesets as far as I could make out the only changes were additional nodes in the ways (A12 and adjacent). Checking back to late 2011 they added more detail in Felixstowe and as far as I can make out that looked OK too, although some of the roundabout spurs I'd have mapped as two ways rather than one http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/143373358/history#map=19/51.96503/1 .31980
