The easiest way to do this is to use the Undelete Object option on the File
Menu of JOSM. This is perfect when it's a single object which needs to be
undeleted.

I've just done this and it looks as though all (nearly all?) ways are
present in the data.

I can try uploading whenever I get the go ahead.
