I've had a look on-site at these two (mutually connected) waterways on site:
<https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1409254576> <https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/888673644>They were dry for most of last year, but after all the recent rain, there's now a significant depth of water in them, so I took the opportunity to drop in some leaves and twigs, to check by the pooh-sticks method that the flow_direction tags are correct. The result was that the water is not, in fact, flowing; it's stationary. What would be the correct tag for that, please?
(I'm tentatively inclined towards "both", on the basis that culvert <https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1414626415> definitely acts as a spillway, I suspect there are additional spillways controlling the network further to the south and west, and my guess is that those spillways can activate flow in either direction depending on which side of them the water surface reaches the critical height. But is that too big a leap of logic?)
