Hi Jan, Regarding your specific example in [2], I've just cleaned it up by removing the object node, that was also part of the way. (Now that I know how to separate ways with JOSM :)
Please consider that it was entered by a beginner, in a crisis situation, who was hoping that someone knowing better would be able to fix things up later as needed. So I'd say, if you notice similar problems in other areas, feel free to correct them. In my understanding, this is part of the continuous improvement process of OSM.
