Mikel,
On a similar topic, there is this article from BBC news:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8543671.stm
which makes no mention of OSM, although it includes a screen capture
from Ushahidi / Haiti, with OSM in the background.
It apparently inspired 2 articles, in french (Le Monde) and spanish,
that are also on
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/2010_Chile_earthquake/Press
(I sent a reaction to the 1st one, and suggested on talk-cl that they do
so for the 2nd one).
It might be good to remind both BBC and its journalist, and Ushahidi,
about OSM licence (nicely of course), maybe taking this opportunity to
let them know more about OSM...
Best,
Jean-Guilhem

Hi!
Well, I think it is worth to:
1) Inform journalist and Guardian (in, of course, very civil and
informative manner) about OSM efforts to map camps. It is very easy to
confuse things. Maybe someone helped to confuse things. Who knows.
2) Understand that one article can't cancel about 10 or 15 of articles
about OSM and CrisisCommons, so don't worry - OSM is recognized,
community work on Haiti is praised and I think in the end real effect
on things matters.
Anyway, it is nice to see that new technologies really help people in
need. That's why I'm doin IT and OSM in first place.
Cheers,
Peter.
