Certaines zones autour de Port-au-Prince, comme par exemple celle visible dans [1], ou Cité Soleil avant les suppressions mentionnées dans le message précédent, Carrefour, ou aussi Léogâne et Jacmel semblent présenter une proportion de rues étiquetées comme "tertiary" plus importante que ce qu'on observe en général ailleurs dans OSM. Apparemment, il s'agit aussi de zones où ont été menées des missions de terrain qui ont relevé l'état opérationnel et la qualité du revêtement. Peut-être quelqu'un aurait-il des lumières à partager sur des critères qui auraient pu conduire à ces classifications ? Le wiki en français donne certaines indications au sujet de la classification des voies [2] qui semblent intéressantes. Pour citer à son propos un extrait d'un message récent sur talk-fr, "la page http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:France_roads_tagging#Exemple_1_de_ce_qu.27il_ne_faut_pas_faire montre clairement que quand on se base uniquement sur les caractéristiques physiques des rues, on aboutit en ville a des schémas illisibles. Il faut une dose d'arbitraire et de subjectif pour en faire émerger un réseau hiérarchisé lisible, visant à recommander à l'automobiliste lambda les axes à privilegier par défaut." Le contributeur "jaakkoh" a semble-t-il récemment révisé dans ce sens des classifications de voies dans Port-au-Prince, dans les zones qu'il connaissait. Son effort mériterait peut-être d'être étendu. Qu'en pensez-vous ? Si vous disposez de connaissances locales, ne serait-il pas intéressant d'essayer de faire apparaître un schéma de circulation qui refléterait l'importance relative des voies dans l'usage qu'en font les gens ? (A distance, il est possible d'essayer de deviner certaines choses à partir des caractéristiques physiques des voies et en essayant de reconstituer une certaine logique de circulation, mais, comme c'est le cas en général dans OpenStreetMap, rien ne vaut la connaissance du terrain). It takes an amount of arbitrariness and subjectivity to have a readable, hierarchically organised network, that aim to convey to an average driver axes to favour by default. " "jaakkoh" has apparently recently revised streets classifications in Port-au-Prince, in the areas he knew. Maybe his effort deserves to be extended. What do you think ? If you have local knowledge, wouldn't it be interesting to try to show a network that would reflect the relative importance of the ways in how they are used by people? (From a distance, it is possible to try to guess certain things from physical characteristics of the ways, and trying to understand some traffic logic, but, as it is the general case within OpenStreetMap, nothing is worth terrain knowledge).
