Cher toutes, (In English further below. Pls find my attempt in French for your amusement -- or grief?)
A vendredi! -Jaakko ---- and then in English what I really tried to say :) -- pls read that because I've most certainly made myself very misubderstood above! ---- So, I discussed with Seb over the weekend that we should really continue with the Mapping Friday Meetups even though Brian's away. We concluded that it'd be a good idea to dedicate the whole day for the meetup (once we've arranged to get together and all) and split the day into two halfs: 1) For beginners/intermediate mappers and 2) For more advanced ones. So we decided that we'd start this Friday (the 12th) with more advanced mappers and continue in the afternoon with beginners/intermediate so the more advanced can help the others and we can end the day (and the week) together. (The below I didn't even try to write in French:) I think this arrangement would be good for that it makes it possible to go through more advanced stuff without sacrificing the original idea that Brian and I had of keeping the "Mapping Meetup" open to anybody and everybody regardless of their connections, background and mapping proficiency. Oh, and one more thing: while thinking of various things we could/should do/discuss during these meetups we concluded that it's perhaps a good idea to try to focus as much as possible on the very tangible grunt-work-like things of fixing things that have developed to undesired directions or that have not gotten the attention that they would deserve. So, to just do things that are deemed important to do but that haven't been done for whatever reason. Would 9am and 1pm be good times for the morning / afternoon sessions to start? Hope to see you on Friday! -Jaakko Sent from my BlackBerry® device from Digicel -- Mobile: +509-37-26 91 54, Skype/GoogleTalk: jhelleranta _______________________________________________ Talk-ht mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ht
