I appreciate the wise counsel. Ready to head out to dinner soon for our
American Thanksgiving holiday. Rumor has it actually began under Irish
origins! https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/news/happy-thanksgiving-2019
Wife's Burke family from Birr, Offaly (Glenahilty). We visited twice.

   1. But computers are on sale beginning tomorrow. I plan to visit our
local Best Buy to consider my Christmas present. Can you all give me some
feedback on any of these choices, HP, Microsoft Surface? Looking at a
processor 15 or i7 and 16 GB RAM with a 512 SSD. Older eyes now so maybe a
15" vs a 13" screen. Mouse on the side of course, I don't think much of
   trackpads. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/select-featured-laptops
Local Miami University department of Geography use the Dell 7490 for their
students doing fieldwork. I understand the Latitude is a better quality
than the Inspiron. XPS 15 looks good, https://deals.dell.com/en-us/ I
would be using this computer for more than just GIS research, (I am Scout
Leader, genealogy files, photos, mapping, cycling; not a gamer at all).
   https://deals.dell.com/en-us/category/laptops has the XPS 13, XPS 13
2-1 and the XPS 15 all in a row.
   https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/surface-deals and I can always
   cross-check Amazon.
   2. Any comments on 2-1's vs standard touch-screen input?
   3. What about the smartphone apps? What do you all use?

Thanks, Pondhopper
