Hi all, I had recently bought a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx. After doing a bit of logging and mapping, I created an image for Delhi and Gurgaon and put it into the device. I was able to successfully navigate to office from my home and turn-by-turn instructions were accurate. It also prompted me to enter the highway through the entry on service lane and did the same for the exit.
There are some issues with the data quality. As areas/regions are not properly marked out on OSM for Gurgaon, address of a POI in "DLF Phase - 3" was being displayed as in "Udyog Vihar - V" and so on. At many places it mentioned "National Capital Region" instead of city names. IMHO, apart from mapping, covering more area and involving more volunteers, we ought to focus on quality of the maps data too. Although, I was able to successfully navigate, but I felt the need for the maps to be better. Has anybody felt the same? I am taking up the task to clean-up and sanitize maps for Gurgaon and NCR. regards, Nishant -- How about some patent on "(a+b)2 = a2+2ab+b2".
