Back from vacation and it seems that user bergtor05 fixed most parts of the bogus changesets 11743299 in one of his recent bigger edits (there was one issue at Reykjanesbraut/Kauptún that I did not mention in my initial mail that was not fixed, yet) -- Þakka kærlega!
I just reverted the remaining parts of changesets 11743299 and also of changeset 11743124. In principle, reverting changes is a matter of seconds using the JOSM reverter plugin. But of course if an object of the changeset to be reverted has been changed in the meantime, things get more complicated (then the reverter plugin does not now whether to restore the previous version or rather stick to the newest version. Therefore, you have manually to choose which version to keep. This is neither that difficult, but just takes time). BTW: a nice visualisation of a changeset can be obtained using http://osmhv.openstreetmap.de/index.jsp -- this may also help decision making when manually resolving conflicts.
