Ciao, C ----- Forwarded conversation Subject: [Wikimedia-l] Maps based on Wikidata data ------------------------ From: Gerard Meijssen <[email protected]> Date: 2014-03-16 10:54 GMT+01:00 To: Wikimedia Mailing List <[email protected]>, WikiData-l <[email protected]>, Research into Wikimedia content and communities <[email protected]> Hoi, In the latest iteration of the "Reasonator", you will find the option to see what items exist in a radius of 15 km around the current item. Obviously, you will find only those items that have a geo-coordinate. There are however many of them :) They are everything from cities to amusement parks like Disney land and its rides. Essentially the functionality shows what is the result of a query. The current maps are based on OpenStreetMap and Wikidata. This is a first iteration of this functionality so we love to hear from you what more and what else you would like us to do with maps and Wikidata. It would be great if the markers had a different color or size depending on the number of sitelinks. And of course different filters would be also useful, like on the map that Denny did some time ago: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/172199972/map/map.html Thanks, Micru -- Etiamsi omnes, ego non _______________________________________________ Wikidata-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-l _______________________________________________ Talk-it mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-it
