Some of you may have heard of the Mechanical Edits Policy[0], which could be implemented in the near future.
Here are my planned edits: 1. Change swimming pool tags (from amenity=swimming_pool to leisure=swimming_pool) and polygonize swimming pool POI's ; will be initially implemented in CALABARZON 2. Change is_in:* tags to addr:* tags; will be initially implemented in the 1st district of Makati[1]. is_in tags with place=* tags and admin boundary relations will not be affected by this planned edit. 3. Eliminate double spacing in names; will be initially implemented in CALABARZON and Bicol Regions. 4. Remove is_in:*, addr:* and other redundant tags in streets inside Caloocan and nearby areas Rationales: 1. leisure=swimming_pool is more descriptive than amenity=swimming_pool, swimming pool nodes do not appear on many maps and services powered by OSM data (as of this post) 2. addr:* tags are more appropriate for amenities, shops and other places of interest while is_in: tags are basically for cities, towns, villages and other administrative levels 3. Double spacing is deemed as a form of "tagging for the renderer" [2] 4. May not be useful (possible tagging clutter) Comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
