Dear everyone, I would like to share that my Institute (www.essc.org.ph) is assisting a local church group for their disaster management initiative. The purpose is to provide scientific and technical information that will support and enhance the church's disaster related activities through geospatial information. We will be using mostly open data and open source technologies.
The initial baseline information will be openstreetmap. We also plan to use OSM related technologies in many aspects of the project. There will be mapping parties, hazard mapping workshops and community meetings and discussions. I am writing the list to invite you to participate in the activities especially during the mapping parties. More details soon.
