Here's a good article by MapBox with graphs showing how the new iD editor
stacks up in terms of contributions and the number of contributors:

What I found interesting is that the number of mappers that use JOSM and
Potlatch are nearly the same before iD became the default online editor.

For the 3rd graph, I think the jump in the number of changesets due to iD
is because iD editors tend to save often. At least that's what I observed
here in the Philippines.
