Online Mapping Training with NU Manila YouthMappers Date & Time: Oct. 17, 2020 / 11am - 4pm (time schedule subject to change) Target Participants: National University JPCS Chapter members, and faculties Background: NU Manila is a new YouthMappers Chapter here in the Philippines. Their application was accepted last March 2020, suppose that without the pandemic there will be a YouthMappers Ambassador who will do the training for them last April 2020. Purpose: The purpose of this training is to teach the new YouthMappers Members/Chapter on what YouthMapper usually do and equip them with the basic knowledge of mapping through OpenStreetMap. There will also be a discussion and training for their Chapter Officers on how to manage and what are the annual requirements and opportunities in YouthMappers. The whole training setup will be the usual introduction to YouthMappers, OpenStreetMap, Tasking Manager and other important groups and tools that they can use for them to utilize for their chapter. As for the hands-on activity, We’re planning to use the active tasks project by Mikko Tamura of Mapbeks to train the new mappers. All edits that the participants will create will be monitored by Pierre Edwin See Tiong to avoid the wrong and missed edits by the participants. We will be using #NUManilaYM for the edits.
