I didn't know this QA tool. I normally use OSM Inspector and KeepRight. Both update their data infrequently (weekly?) It seems osmsurround queries the database directly and so are only some minutes behind realtime. This offers that "instant gratification" feeling that motivates mappers to keep contributing.

The downside of osmsurround is that the number of tests are much smaller than in keeprigth.

By the way, are there other realtime QA tools?

My collegue Luis Cosat from Angra mentioned it only in a short notice
here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Pt:_Life_Long_Learning_Mapping_Project

I believe the right URL is http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/PT:Life_Long_Learning_Mapping_Project

and just announcing that http://map.project-osrm.org/
will be available *em português* probeably next week. ;-)

Já está em português. ;-) Obrigado!

Um abraço,
