Good afternoon OSM Sweden,

I would like to share a new MapRoulette challenge, specifically focused on
fixing building and highway intersections. You can find the challenge here:
(Sweden - Fix Building and Highway Intersections:
MapRoulette<https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/41024>)

Our team at TomTom has been diligently conducting spatial analysis and
validation, and during our analysis of highway and buildings features available
in OSM, we discovered instances where buildings might be intersecting with a
highway/road. The goal of this challenge is to identify and rectify any such
situations, ensuring accurate map and data representation by utilising reliable
sources. It’s important to note that, as with any spatial analysis, there might
be some false positives. If you come across a task that you believe is not a
valid issue based on your knowledge, we kindly request you to mark it as “Not
an issue.” There are 500 tasks in this challenge.

A kind reminder to all new editors of an important point: if a building and a
highway actually cross each other, it is likely one of the following
combinations::

  *
tunnel=building_passage<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:tunnel%3Dbuilding_passage>
  *   building=roof<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:building%3Droof>,
layer=*<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:layer> - and for the highway:
covered=yes<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:covered%3Dyes>
  * (a lot of roofs at fuel stations are probably not tagged correctly)
See also the general article about
covered=*<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:covered>, which lists more
specific cases.

For more detailed information, you can refer to the Sweden
GitHub<https://github.com/tomtom-international/open-data/issues/48> page or
visit the MapRoulette challenge page. If you have any inquiries, remarks, or
questions, please don’t hesitate to reply to this post/mail or send me a direct
message.

Wishing you as always a happy week and enjoyable editing!
