PS: The reason I added the dummy node was JOSM seems to show the list of relations in a particular area, and I didn't know how to find a relation that wasn't in a particular area - that was all to help me locate the relation to delete it. In Potlatch it is easy to find an existing relation by id to add members to it, but I couldn't work out how to do that in JOSM.
