Hi,

Close to a main railway station, there are often other stations (underground,
bus, tram, etc.) which have the same name (e.g. "Somewhere Station").

I wonder what is the best value for the key 'name' of these stations?

There are examples where the transport type is added in the name: e.g. "Gare de
Lyon (métro 14)" in Paris [1], or "Hauptbahnhof (U-Bahn)" in Frankfurt [2].

Don't you think it is better to tag all these stations with their real name
("Somewhere Station")? It isn't ambiguous since other tags than name allow to
distinguish these stations [3]. And it gives to users/applications the real
name, not a name "for renderer".

Cheers,
Zigeuner

[3] E.g. "Gare de l'Est" railway and underground stations can be distinguish by
some renderers even though they are both tagged railway=station and name=Gare
de l'Est:
