Station might be overblowing a situation where you have a generic streetcorner, two bus routes crossing and a stop on each side of the intersection; stops going East and West might be called First and Main Street, whereas the cross street would have Main and First Avenue, and not all four of those stops have any physical presence other than that's where the bus regularly gets flagged down (or signaled from onboard) to stop.
