Check out the Basic Map and Photography Viewer for Iowa found here:

Iowa is also starting a four-year LiDAR project.
They intend to make all of this information publically available.
It would be really nice to get the aerial photography from here onto
OSM, as the Yahoo and Google aerials for Iowa are not as good as
what is available here, and the LiDAR data would give the elevations
(of course Iowa is pretty flat).
