I would highly recommend tangoGPS (http://www.tangogps.org/) for GPS tracing on the FreeRunner. There's even a handy guide on contributing to OSM on the tangoGPS web site: http://www.tangogps.org/gps/articles/13-Howto-contribute-to-OpenStreetMap.html A feature of tangoGPS I've found particularly useful is its ability to easily download OpenStreetMap data to show you where you are. I haven't used Location much (the mapping app on the Om 2008.8 software release), but apparently it can do that, too. Although I'm not sure if it does tracing.
