I don't know how many of the people on this list are on the regular talk list (I'd presume a fair number).
If you are, you've likely seen the lively discussion going on about the licenses. It made me think again about one of the major potential benefits of having a US Chapter and that is stewardship over data imports. In DC and elsewhere, people have been getting data from local government sources. If a license or other agreement could be reached with a single entity (OSM US), then this would simplify not only getting the data, but also ensuring that should there be a similar transition in the future, that there's a single clearinghouse for a transition (both as an advocate for US Chapter members and assisting with any necessary relicensing efforts). - Serge _______________________________________________ Talk-us mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-us
