I know this is a US forum, but I'm considering doing a small last minute mapping meet up in Ottawa, Ontario next weekend (Friday the 3rd). Not really anything big, but it's a good way to see a new city, and meet mappers.
There is a list available in the wiki: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Current_events I've always had good luck with coffee shops, they like to have the customers.
