Hi,

It would be nice to have a procedure for finding these problems.

Try the OSM inspector's multipolygon view, at http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/debug.html (then select multipolygons from the view drop-down - note that only the views with an earth icon are world-wide but multipolygon is one of them).

To save you the zooming, here's a permalink:

http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/debug.html?view=multipolygon&lon=-84.29300&lat=33.77300&zoom=12&overlays=invalid_geometry_hull,duplicate_ways,intersections,intersection_lines,ring_not_closed_hull,ring_not_closed,unconnected_end_nodes,touching_inner_rings_hull,touching_inner_rings,role_mismatch_hull,role_mismatch,duplicate_tags_hull,duplicate_tags,multipolygons_type_is_boundary,type_is_boundary,ways,role_markers,way_end_nodes,way_nodes

As you can see, the offending relation is clearly marked in the middle with "ring not closed" and the non-connected endpoints are painted red.

Bye
Frederik
