Hi US OSMers,

I posted news about MapQuests four new language sites on the talk list, but
wanted to share the news here too!
The whole planet is available when you visit any of the sites, so pan over to
the US and see what’s there! Awesome development include: routes are draggable,
you can share to FB, your GPS or by email.

I’d also like to take this moment to introduce myself the community advocate
with the MapQuest team! I will manage the $1 Million fund donated by MapQuest
to OSM in July. More than that, I am a communication portal between OSM and
MapQuest. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] with any
questions, feedback, comments, ideas or just to say howdy!

Happy Mapping,
Hurricane Coast

Howdy!

I wanted to let your radars pick up some interesting news from MapQuest:
As of early this morning (it's 6am in Denver ;)), MapQuest announced the beta
launch of four new European mapping sites built on OpenStreetMap data!

I've got to say, it's super cool to see it's powered by Nominatim and features
like draggable routes!
And-- you can send your maps to Facebook, your GPS and email.
Woohoo!

You can check out the sites at http://open.mapquest.fr http://open.mapquest.de
 http://open.mapquest.it and http://open.mapquest.es

These sites are in addition to http://open.mapquest.co.uk which was launched
earlier in the summer.
