i don't disagree with this. my concern, though, was that there is likely to be some mechanical discussion that was down in the weeds. but then, dev might be a good place for that.
You might consider moving the topic to either talk@ or dev@ for a larger audience though. We're a small fraction of the OSM community here, and other will certainly have good ideas to contribute.
