Any use of an external source that fails to consider other sources is Just Bad Mapping. Using something like maproulette to consider the existing state of the database before including data from an external source is one positive step. I would suggest, though, that this sort of mapping far-from-home is generally lower quality and should be avoided. Local knowledge is King.
