The instructions currently read:

*1. Create an account on OpenStreetMap.org*
*2. Click on “edit” and pick one of the editors to edit the map*


Which seems a bit sparse and perhaps intimidating. Could that have a "3"?
"Editing the map" is not every new person's goal.  Maybe give 'em good
examples like:

...map a drinking water fountain in your business district...
...add a website tag to a shop, so people can find details...
...hike a trail with a GPS and record the track later...
...point out a great viewpoint by adding a symbol to the map...
...map a speed limit sign...

Give 'em something that's both interesting and doable, a starter project.
