my talk on OpenStreetMap in New York has been accepted for the NYS GIS conference at the end of October. now i have to write it...
the gist of the talk is to be the current state of the data in NY, and what kinds of opportunities exist for improving it (e.g., carefully managed imports of addresses and building footprints, fixing TIGER issues, etc.) the audience will be mostly government and commercial GIS types who sort of know what OSM is but most are not active contributors; they are interested in what OSM is but not necessarily knowledgable. the talk is not supposed to be a tutorial or a demonstration of capabilities, others have done those sorts of presentations. anyone have any suggestions about things i need to include? thanks, richard
