In my own small way, I monitor my local area (several counties in California)
for obvious Pokemon Go vandalism. It is often a small lake or pond
(natural=water feature) adjacent to a leisure=park. I use a changeset comment
or send a missive to the author (usually brand-new) and ask them to remove
these data. Firmly, but leaving open the door to "nice" in case there is more
future interaction. After a few days to maybe ten days, I remove the data
myself. Some of these people can indeed be "turned" into good OSM
contributors, it is partly how nice/kind my/our approach as we do this, it is
partly how willing they are to feel a sense of the true mission of OSM when
they are shown the errors of their ways. So there are better methods to do
this, and sometimes they work.

YMMV.
