Talk-ZA, Recent Garmin GPS units can display "Custom Maps" [1] As a quick test I have created a Custom Map using the NGI aerial imagery for the Cape Town City Bowl (CBD).
Install Instructions: 1) Download: http://aerial.openstreetmap.org.za/Garmin-Custom-Map-CT-City-Bowl-Test-17012013.kmz (18MB) 2) Copy to Garmin unit to folder: /Garmin/CustomMaps/ (create folders as necessary) 3) Zoom in on CT City Bowl on unit. Let me know if it works for you. I haven't tested myself as I don't own a Custom Maps capable unit.
