Hi I have recently "connected" the Lesotho grid with the South African grid... if you view the maps available on http://www.itoworld.com/map/4?lon=21.93466&lat=-30.88499&zoom=8 you should be able to see the grid. ( It might not be visible right now as they had a problem over the weekend importing data ).
The work is a good start but there is still lots of remaining mapping to be done. Specifically in Lesotho where I did not have NGI imagery and the BIng imagery where covered in clouds. There is also a possibility of two links with the power network but I only managed to find the power line south of Ladybrand. I expected a second link to Lesotho from Clocolan but I could find no evidence on the imagery. The power line also abruptly terminates at Clocolan so there is still some mapping/investigative work to be done. There is also an interesting kink at Copperton, in the power line that runs north west from De Aar. It looks like a measuring error that was corrected at Copperton, although I am sure there is probably a better explanation. Regards -- Gerhardus Geldenhuis
